Cruising Alaska between mid-June and mid-September provides warmer weather and long days make this a particularly pleasant time of year, with temperatures in the cool-but-comfortable range of 60 to 67°F.

September thins out the crowds of cruisers, giving you greater access to tourist locations that would be packed during July or August. Elk, caribou, bears, moose and deer can be spotted across the wilderness.

When cruising in September its best to cruise in the earlier part of the month before the shops start to close down for the season.
